The Montecito, California homes of Oprah Winfrey, Michael Douglas and Rob Lowe are in danger of being gutted by the bush fire, dubbed the "Tea Fire," that has already destroyed many other properties.

Spokespersons for Winfrey and Lowe have confirmed that the celebrities’ homes had not been burned by the wind-driven wildfire, which broke out a little before 6am Thursday and quickly spread through more than 800 acres in the foothills located south of Santa Barbara. An estimated 10,000 people have already been evacuated from the Montecito and Santa Barbara areas, where more than 100 houses have razed to the ground.

Lowe evacuated his family as the wildfires threatened to sweep through the wealthy neighborhood. He said, "We got in the car, pulled out of the driveway and the entire mountain behind us was flames, 200 feet high, shooting into the air...This thing came on so fast, you just can't believe it.

"I've watched 12 or 13 homes burn to the ground. It's so tragic. It was Armageddon."

In her talk show, Winfrey said, "All our prayers are with all the folks and neighbors in Santa Barbara. Hope you're well today. And those of you who lost your homes, our hearts go out to you."

Lowe’s and Winfrey’s properties are presently safe from danger; but other celebrity neighbors Mike Douglas, Kevin Costner, Jeff Bridges and Ellen DeGeneres are on standby to take off from their homes.
