Sheryl Crow Asks People to Save Horses
Nine-time Grammy winner Sheryl Crow is asking the public to help save America’s wild horses.
In an upcoming documentary, Saving the American Wild Horse, Crow says, "I think it will be a real shame when we look back and we don't have these incredible species, and I guess my best hope would be that people, individuals, step up at this point and really protect these animals.”
The documentary, directed by James Kleinert and narrated by Peter Coyote, takes a look at the preservation of the animals and highlights the Bureau of Land Management’s regulations regarding public horses.
Featuring actor Viggo Mortensen, the program will also include interviews with ranchers, environmentalists, animal rights activists, among others.
Crow, owner of a wild mustang, states the horses are part of American history but big companies in pursuit of Western lands are endangering their welfare.
AP reports that Saving the American Wild Horse is scheduled for airing Monday on the Documentary Channel.
