Beyonce Knowles Is Nintendo’s New Face
Beyonce Knowles is the latest celebrity to front Nintendo DS game called Rhythm Heaven, to be released in stores April 5.
The singer is set to appear in television ads for the upcoming American release of the DS. She has recently finished recording a commercial for the forthcoming American port of the DS game Rhythm Tengoku, a Japanese rhythm game.
Knowles, who admitted staying up all night to play Super Mario Brothers and revealed she loves Guitar Hero, talks about her dissatisfaction with karaoke games, saying, "I've actually played some karaoke games with the old Destiny's Child songs. It's so funny, because I don't get great scores. I'm like, 'How is that possible?'"
In recent years, Nintendo enlisted unlikely spokespersons for the company’s brand. Previous endorsers included Liv Tyler, Lisa Kudrow, Carrie Underwood, America Ferrera, and Nicole Kidman.
