‘Angel’ Star Andy Hallet Dies at 33

Andy Hallet, best known for his role as the green demon Lorne on the television series Angel, passed away Sunday due to heart failure. He was 33.

Hallet died at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles after a five-year battle with heart disease, according to the actor’s longtime agent and friend Pat Brady.

He stated that the actor had been rushed to the hospital several times over the past few years due to his heart condition.

E! Online reports that the actor, who was also a singer, appeared on the popular tv series Angel, a spinoff of Buffy, The Vampire Slayer, more than 70 episodes between 2000 and 2004 as Lorne, a lovable demon employed at a demon bar. After his stint at Angel was over, Hallet concentrated on his music career and toured the country.

A private funeral service is reportedly scheduled for this weekend.
