The comic is set to make a television comeback, but behind the cameras this time.
Comic Jerry Seinfeld is scheduled to return to NBC to produce a comic reality series highlighting famous people and a referee try to help bickering couples kiss and make up.The Marriage Ref, tentatively planned to air next season, will feature hour-long episodes that will star fighting couples, who will be given advice and suggestions initially by a panel of celebrity guests before a "ref" irons things out.
The show's concept stemmed from Seinfeld's personal experience and was then developed together with firned Ellen Rakieten, who recently left Oprah Winfrey's production company after over twenty years of service.
While his fans have been awaiting his TV comeback, they may be set for disappointment since the comedian made it clear that he is not planning to star in any television series again. Seinfeld, who ended his nine-year run on NBC hit show Seinfeld in 1998, states, "It's a young man's game. Nothing could surpass the experience I had."
The actor explained that he is unable to make television commitments since he has his hands full with his career as a standup comedian and with his family. Seinfeld and wife Jessica have three children.
