The Weinstein Company has announced that is prepping up and re-starting Scream.

Weinstein said, "The Scream franchise has become a cult classic. Together, all three movies have grossed over $300 million at the box office, just in the United States alone. The fans have been asking for a fourth 'Scream' movie for years and we're finally giving it to them.”

The company added, “As far as details go, we're only in the planning stages and we may not get around to Scream 4 for quite some time, but rest assured, it will happen."

Courtney Cox and husband David Arquette are said to be interested in reprising their parts as Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley, respectively.

It’s uncertain if Neve Campbell is coming back to portray Sidney Prescott.

In the past she stated, "We were really lucky with the Scream films to actually make a good trilogy, I think it's very challenging to find other films that have done that properly, but I think it was a good idea for me to stop there."

The last of the horror movies, which hit theaters in 2000, was received with less enthusiasm.
