Patrick Swayze Slams British Tabloid for Negative Writeups
The Dirty Dancing star has taken a shot at the National Enquirer, insisting that the publication could have focused on the positive aspects going on in his life.
In the latest issue of the Enquirer, the actor is featured on the cover wearing a cap, appearing emaciated, and sporting a device the tabloid refers to as a chemo catheter. The British magazine claims Swayze is approaching “The End” of his battle with stage IV pancreatic cancer.
The 56-year-old ailing actor, who is currently working on a new book, addressed the issue, saying, “It's amazing to me that the tabloids such as the National Enquirer print such negative stories about me and my health when there are so many positive things going on in my life right now. I've started a new chemotherapy and, once again, I am one of the lucky ones with pancreatic cancer that is responding well to the treatment.
“I hope in the future, the press will think twice about printing inaccuracies and painting an unpleasant picture when I have so much to be thankful for at this time.”
