A private funeral service was held for actress Natasha Richardson at St. Peter’s Church in Millbrook, New York, where she married Liam Neeson in 1994.

The 46-year-old actress tragically died after suffering a fatal fall while skiing on the slopes of Mont Tremblant in Montreal, Canada, on March 16. Richardson, best known for her roles in The Parent Trap and Maid in Manhattan, suffered serious head injuries. It was learned that she was not wearing a helmet when the accident occurred.

The Tony Award-winning actress was the oldest daughter of director Tony Richardson and actress Vanessa Redgrave. She made her debut in the movie industry at age four as an extra in her father’s film titled The Charge of the Light Brigade.

Lindsay Lohan, who as a preteen starred with Richardson on The Parent Trap, stated, "She was a wonderful woman and actress and treated me like I was her own."

Sam Mendes, producer of the Broadway musical Cabaret for which Richardson won a Tony award, said, “It defies belief that this gifted, brave, tenacious, wonderful woman is gone.”

Richardson is survived by Neeson, who was among the pallbearers, and sons, Michael and Daniel. She will be laid to rest at a cemetery where grandmother Rachel Kempson Redgrave was buried in 2003.
