Dakota Fanning to Star in 'Twilight' Sequel

Teen actress Dakota Fanning is set to star in the follow-up to the
romantic-fantasy movie Twilight.
A Summit Entertainment spokesperson has confirmed to People that the 15-year-old
War of the Worlds actress has officially gotten the role in New Moon as the
bloodsucking Jane, a member of the Italian Volturi vampires.
The Los Angeles Times reports that shooting for the film will kick off in
Vancouver this year, but Fanning’s scenes may be held in Rome. New Moon is
scheduled for a November release.
In addition to playing the role of Jane in the Twilight sequel, Fanning is said
to be in talks to play Cherie Currie in The Runaways, the biopic of the
seventies all-girl rock band, whose hits include Cherry Bomb.
According to Variety, Fanning is the same age as Currie was when she became the
lead singer for the legendary female punk band. Twilight star Kristen Stewart
has signed on to play Joan Jett, The Runaways executive producer.
